The following is a photograph I made for Peugeot UK's new 208. Pixelstick is a light painting system that expands the limits of what’s possible without requiring you to pull hairs out thinking up outlandish techniques.

Light painting pixelstick full#
Pixelstick consists of 200 full color RGB LEDs inside a lightweight aluminum housing. Seamlessly paint photoreal images, abstract designs, and animation into your long exposure photos and timelapse. The Pixelstick pretty much "draws" that image in the air which your camera captures (your eyes will only see a sequence of what seems like random flashing lights instead). Here we highlight an interesting work from shooters with access to both a pixelstick and an adventurous couple. Photographing on a long exposure, walk right to left facing the camera and at a steady pace. Think of each LED as an individual pixel so you can create bitmap (.BMP) images of 200 pixel high in Photoshop (they can otherwise be any length really) and import them via the SD slot into the Pixelstick. The Pixelstick is a nifty device designed specifically for light painting, and it has a number of fantastic features. It's a programmable 2m high stick which features 198 LEDs and an SD card slot to import your own creations. The beauty of lightpainting is theres no wrong way to do it. The first one is called the kinetic method since the camera is used to paint the lights. In short the Pixelstick (by Bitbanger Labs) is a light painting tool. Pixelstick consists of 200 full color RGB LEDs inside a lightweight aluminum housing. How difficult is it to use this light stick Take it out of the box till using it for first time, what is involved Im a Star Wars fan and they have. There are two methods of doing light paintings. The commercial applications should not be overlooked by a photographer like me often working with London based creative agencies, PR companies, etc. When I heard about the Pixelstick in 2013, I immediately saw the potential for my creative urban photography. I'm a self-confessed photography gadget geek.
